Tim Hughes was born in Miami , Florida , but grew up in a small town outside of Orlando- Geneva, Florida. He spent his childhood playing with his two brothers, fishing, camping with the Boy Scouts, getting into trouble with his friends, and hanging out with his youth pastor (and future best friend, mentor and best man).
During high school Tim began to understand the free gift that Jesus offered (Romans 6:23) and put his faith in Christ. He graduated from Oviedo High School in 1998, and from there went to a local college where he pursued a career in Fish and Game management.
He had been involved in youth ministry for many years at that point under Mark and realized that God had been preparing him to commit his life fulltime to youth ministry. To that end, he came to Columbia to attend Columbia International University , where he met Rebecca Bedell, who was studying psychology.
After Tim’s graduation in 2003, they were married on June 14, 2003 and they lived happily ever after. The next two years Tim spent at Lexington Presbyterian Church in their two-year youth internship program. After much prayer and searching,
Tim and Rebecca joyfully joined the Faith Presbyterian Church family in August 2005. For Rebecca, it is like coming home since her family attended Faith for many years while she was in the youth group. They are both thrilled to be a part of what God is doing at Faith.
